topping or the pub?

I just spent the evening topping in the rain. Texted a few of the lads around 3 to go drinking but no reply.

The tractor now costs around e200 to fill and i used around 1/4 of a tank going around in circles cuttin auld wisps of grass and breaking shear bolts and generally tormenting myself.

Anyway lads would it have been more productive and/or cheaper to go to the pub? :)

50 quid in the pub and you'd have nothing to show for it next day except a headache. At least this way a few paddocks are looking good:cool:

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

Not anymore, selling as weanlings, but will be heading back to it next year with the angus and aubrac bulls. I reckon the aubracs won't be a great seller in the mart and I know the angus will be easy enough to get a finish on over the summer. Not sure yet about the blondes, depends on the weanling trade. Going on this year's market the best option might be to castrate and sell in March for the 'elderly gentlemen type farmer' who likes looking at nice cattle every day.

Going down route but aubrac calves shaping up well might sell well for export. if not will finish out of shed @ 14 months.Next year will be a mixture of angus and aubrac calves will decide what do then.
As for the top v pub debate get better brownie points by going to pub over staying topping fields
