worst use of the word 'literally'. Ever. :)

Never bought or heard of them, but have bought planet x 50mm clinchers and they are nice. About 500 euros.

I don't know them but if you want these types of wheels they are many other known and tested sellers. Deng fu, focus-carbon and farsports are the most tested I think.

Thanks for replying, there are planet x 50s on this website as well for a fraction of that. Apologies about the use of literally :P

I have bought on Aliexpress before from BladeX and Yishun and they seem reliable. Shipping is punctual (10-15 days). While I'm no connoiseur of carbon wheels, I believe that these 2 are at least reliable as Yishun has a lot of +ve feedback and BladeX are "Assurance Plus" sellers which basically means they have paid money to prove they are genuine which is rare in China. The basalt braking surface carbon wheels are the latest rage.

Keep your distance from those copied bikes. I have a HongFu bike and it's very good. It's not a clone. I was in McQuaids yesterday and actually saw that exact same Pinarello copy and mechanic was saying the owner dropped it in and it wasn't working well.

"wasn't working well"? Most unspecific industry criticism ever. :pac:

I don't see how a frame can "not work well" unless the frame is so badly constructed that the rear hanger cannot be aligned.

A friend bought a "chinerello" frame & carbon wheels last summer. Built up in lbs with groupset & finishing kit. A years sportive and training later has had no problems to report. Lovely finish on frame and quick delivery f I remember correctly. Can't confirm if it's the same company/ website though.

Just one experience of course and I'm sure you could get your fingers burnt buying copy frames.

Yes true but don't shoot the messanger. Like asking someone the time and they say half past.

Mightn't necessarily be the bike though, could be the group set he put on it or anything.

If I was spending that kind of money though, I'd save the extra and buy a Planet X. Reliable company that actually have customer service experience and if anything goes wrong there's someone to contact.
