i rooted my sensation because i wasnt happy with its performance and installed all types of different roms and stuff on it but essentially none of them are fail proof they all have problems and i think the more tinkering i did with the phone the worse it got

i have since upgraded to a htc one x and i ****ing love it fast responsive decent battery the only thing i dont like is the bloatware from vodafone

so my question is can i root my phone and move the ****ty bloatware but still recieve ota updates to my software and bascally just go on as i am

Yes you can root. It's an easy process too (done using a bootloader unlocking process supported by HTC).

Check out the HOX forum on XDA Developers for all the available ROMs.

This was the guide I used to root mine.

By the way, I'm not sure if you can still receive OTA updates if you're using a custom ROM. Those guys usually integrate the updates in their ROMs before the networks even get them here, so it's not a big deal for me.

i have no plans to use a custom rom i was hoping to root keep the stock rom and just use root uninstaller to remove some of the stupid apps on my phone like free game trials

I didn't try that when I unlocked the bootloader, so I don't know the answer - sorry.

After rooting install Titanium Backup. Not only can it back up apps it can also uninstall and freeze apps. Freezing can be a good idea if are not sure about deleting apps.
