    In the Mocks I got:
    English: 70%
    Tech Graph: 74%
    C.S.P.E: 76%
    Irish: 67%
    French:61%
    History+Science+business:60%
    Geography:58%

You should be pleasantly surprised with your results if you study. Students tend to go up a grade by the Junior Cert. If you can 67 percent in Irish I don't see how you cannot get an A in geography which is probably the most 'do-able' subject after CSPE!

You will do much better than you think you will.
    It's designed like that.

"have been doing around 5 hours study for the past 3 days"

He said he's been doing around 5 hours study a day... people don't read things before answering anymore...

I don't mean to sound ignorant, but how exactly is the exam designed like that?

The marking scheme and questions are very much weighted towards allowing the candidate to gain marks, even when something may not be exactly 100% correct.

As a simple example - let's say in History you are asked for two materials used in building a castle and there are three marks going for it.

The first correct answer will get two marks and the second one will get 1.
If they were trying to catch you out, it would be 1 mark for the first correct one and the final 2 for the second correct one.

So, for a half wrong answer, you could score two-thirds of the marks.

The candidate is always given the benefit of the doubt in Junior Cert. and the 38% rule applies, where 38% is a pass mark.

Oh right, thanks, I see what you mean now:). Do the above points not come into affect for the Leaving Cert?

Oh no, the Leaving Cert. is only trying to give you marks for clearly showing you know the answers.

At Leaving Cert., the questions are weighted towards the last sections which usually score much more. There is very little room for manoeuver in the Leaving. You could write three pages of an answer for the Leaving and if it does not properly address the question you will get no marks at all.
