Something like this would be a better option for not much more.

If a good price. It will receive free satellite channels. Everything included, 3year warrenty.

Doesn't mention the size of dish although looks pretty standard... 60cm maybe? Adequate.

Doesn't mention if it records to usb. Probably does

it isn't hd. This is a big negative. Unless you'll use it with small tv.

It will need channels retuned occasionally and these cheap boxes usually not very user friendly. A freesat branded box would be easier I think

    won't do irish channels either

My dad has one like it (it's def either Lidl or Aldi) and can get channels from all over Europe on it. I love it because I'm a language nerd so it's great for me to watch foreign TV, but realistically you won't get much else on it. Maybe a few British channels. I'm no dope or technical retard (I'm actually the family member who "knows about computers"), but not a chance would I be able to tune it in. I just leave it to him because he used to install satellites for a living.

On Astra 2d you get bbc1,2,3,4 itv1,2,3,4, channel4,e4,more4,film4,channel5 all the associated +1 channels, a dozen different news channels. Few children's channels, few movie channels like true movies. Few religious and shopping channels

Installation needs a certain amount technical ability. You could probably do a bit of research, google or youtube search and see what's involved

Just as cheap to buy a dish & box from Adverts which would be more reliable than the Aldi/Lidl ones, they are selling Ross satellite equipment now which is pretty poor stuff.

So, realistically, you don't know much at all?

Are you sure you're not overselling yourself?!

It's not High Definition (HD) it's just standard definition (SD) - for another €20 - €30 you could find a HD box somewhere - you can pick up second hand Sky dish very cheaply in newspaper classified ads as well.
