wind deflectors and electric windows

Wind deflectors I fitted on to my car last year affect the function of my electric windows - when I press the button to close my window, the glass travels upwards but as soon as it makes contact with the hard plastic of the deflector, the window simply returns back down; it's probably a safety feature but is a nuisance (with wind deflectors) when going through parking barriers, etc.
Can anything be done to ease the effects of this safety feature, or am I stuck with this as long as I keep using the deflectors?
It's strange that this problem, which involves having to inch the window up, is rarely mentioned in pros and cons of deflectors, but it's surely a consideration worth knowing about before deciding to buy them, especially if this problem can't be sorted.
Btw, I can see why the safety feature is there. Thanks.

I think your deflectors are not fitted properly. I had them before on a car and never a problem. The window never touched the deflector.

The glass does seem to make contact with the deflector.
Video is very helpful, I'm going to try that and hopefully I'm not too late to fix it by leaving it for 24hrs, not sure if I did that before. Thanks for replies, especially the video.
