Sharing iPad 3G internet w/ a desktop?

So I have an iPad with 3G connection from Three that I'm pretty happy with.

I'm considering cancelling my eircom broadband (far too expensive!) which runs on my desktop.

Is there a way to either:

    A) share the 3G connection with my desktop, or

    B) take the 3G smartcard(?) from the iPad and swap it into the desktop as needed?

I'm not too sure what kind of kit I need, or even what to ask for.

Any help would be really appreciated!

Yep sure, you can get a 3g router and put the sim into it and there ya have it wifi from a 3g sim

but even though eircom is expensive i'd look around and see if there is any other fixed braodband services available, but if your content with the 3g then the router is the easiest way

The above mentioned Dovado router is probably the best / with most features, etc, but is a bit expensive. You'd get away with a cheaper one. However, if you can afford Dovado, go for it.

You will also need a 3g dongle. 3g sim card slots into a dongle -> dongle then plugs either straight into pc or a router. There may exist routers that accept 3g cards directly.

Also make sure that 3g dongle and the router are compatible, ie. that the 3g dongle will be recognized by the router. Each router would have own compatibility list.

Three has Hauwei e353 3g dongle for 19eur on prepay (just put you existing 3g sim card into it).
