I'm looking for a physio in Cork city who specialises in Repetitive Stress Injuries. I've been getting a lot of pain in my wrists which is a big problem as I work as a software developer and so I'm on a computer all day. From what I've read on-line a physio who doesn't specialise in this field can do more harm than good.

Sorry can't help you with finding a physio but learning to not rest my palms/wrists when typing and a bit of desk ergonomics has helped me a lot.

I'm also a software developer and I hear ya OP, invest in a decent keyboard and mouse wrist support pad. I was getting awfully sharp pains in my wrist from using the mouse and I bought a gel pad type thing and the pains were gone a few days later.

Also get a good mouse with ergonomic support, some of the more expensive Microsoft and Logitech ones offer this.

Ideally when using a mouse you fingers should rest on the mouse, over the buttons and the not having the small pinkie finger falling over the edge of the mouse...you're a frequent computer user, you know what I mean:D

If this fails then by all means contact a physio, Nessa Long in Douglas are fairly good physios, I'm going there for some neck work at the moment...more posture related issues due to the choice of career:mad:
