I was thinking about buying a cheap car in Perth.

I checked Gumtree but car's were too expensive ha (only want to spend about a grand)

Do any of you know any other sites or any tips for me?

    Cheers

My advice would be not to spend less than a grand on a car unless you really can't afford it. If you do then chances are it will breakdown or get yellow stickered. Have a look at notices in hostels and look for notices from people who are leaving perth and are desperate to sell.

    Hi,

Use Redbook, to see how much you should be paying for a car
    http://redbook.com.au/

There are auctions on Newcastle Street every week
    http://www.aberdeenautoauctions.com.au/

Pick up the Quokka on a thursday . Loads of cars of all prices in it.

Stick with Gumtree and just be the early bird.
I have bought 3 cars and made a profit selling them on sheerly on being straight in with the cash and all have been in the $1k-$2K mark.
Must's are long enough Rego if they will sell it on with the car or a RWC.
A RWC for an everydayer 4 cylinder can justify an extra $500 in some cases of value but you won't find them at the $1000 bracket.
