Excel > and< than with dates?

Hi, As well as I know excel I am struggling with the following. in A I have dates. What I am trying to say is: if A(date) is >= 01/04/2012 but = 01/04/2011 but <= 31/03/2012, then FY12) otherwise "NA" The whole =if(and( thing is just not working for me :( Help?
