As far as I know the heater matrix is a big job, you might have to remove the dashboard.

    What a shame!

I'd rather not have to but theres a bit too much to have to do with it. I'd need a garage to be able to do it properly, cos stripping large amountswith the constant risk of rain isnt a runner for the most part. It's sat on my drive.

I'll be getting another one when I can so if I do strip the one I have I'll be taking everything off it and sell on a few bits to help others keep theirs alive.

OP is it a SI or SII? the clocks are different and may even vary within that . My Activa SI clocks are Jaeger I think and the ones on my SII are different. The connections are completely different.

I have door cards (and 3 sets of seats, 1 each from an LX, SX and Activa) from an SX and the Activa.

Thats right, the S1 is a Jaeger LaCoultre Speedo and I think the S2 is a VDO Seimens (I think... I'm not running out into the rain to check.)

Its a shame to see the Activa being scrapped, I've not seen another one apart from the aul fellas on Irish roads. They are a rare car here.

Its a tough enough job alright. NovaStop might do the trick but if that fails you could always do without it and just have cold air.

Same here - and I am sure the OH will get fed up of a banger sitting down on the driveway.
    Must build a garage!:pac:

I wish I could build a garage :( where we live there's no room.

I can't fit the jag between the gates into our back yard. The Eventless used to get in with mm to spare.

It least on the Xantia you could adjust the height of the suspension. It saved my bacon back in November when dublin flooded.

The car is a sliver 1998 one & is due the nct soon so it all depends on what happen in that to the faith of the car . The owner knows of a breaker who has one that was in a shed for the past 5 years that is looking for 500 euro for it must be a rust bucket. It just goes to show you can not buy from a breaker as they see scrap value in rust.

If the speedo isn't working, then you can fix it by looking for dry solder joints on the back. It worked for me.

I wouldn't rule out getting some parts from dealers too. I recently got parts for an AX and they were reasonably priced considering they were brand new as opposed to taking a chance on 2nd hand.
