Roundabout Question

    Hi,

Having passed my test almost two years ago I have a little question. On a two lane roundabout who is at fault if this happens:
I take this roundabout I go on the right lane to take the third exit. Nearly everyone that is on the left lane to take the second exit always drifts to the right and I have to slow down or brake quickly. Who is at fault if I hit them because of their inability to stick to their lane?

    Beeping my horn doesn't work!

    Many thanks!

You are technically in the right but if you hit them from behind it's your word versus theirs.

If you remain in your lane and they leave theirs and impact you, it'll be their fault.

You might want to invest in a dashcam.

The roundabout section coming off the M3 at dunboyne is laughable I would be suprised if 5% of drivers knew or used the correct lane for their exit.

Thanks for the responses! It is a massive roundabout so I can't understand how people drift so far over!

What happened today and usually every time I take it is: We both enter the roundabout at the same time, beside each other, and then they start drifting. It would be me hitting them if I don't brake.... I'm not lying when I say only 2/10 people use it properly!

A lot of people enter the roundabout in the left lane and use the force to navigate a path to whatever exit they are leaving by usually by forcing drivers who correctly indicate and position to brake hard to avoid them

In my opinion, you would be in the right,as they drifted into your lane. Obviously you should try to avoid the collision.

Downright laziness is the answer if you ask me. Peoples misuse of roundabouts really tests my patience, followed closely by drivers being very bad to dip their lights for oncoming traffic (a considerable number too in my experience)
