    Hi

    Looking for advice

Was looking at getting an IWC Ingenieur

My mate (who has ben made redundant) is looking at selling me his.

He has no box or papers.I have looked at the watch and it looks great

However, due to the amount involved I told him I would like to get it authenticated

Does anyone here know the best place to get it done? or are any of the boardies in a position to do it ?

My concern is that if is looked at and determined its not original, I dont want it to be held or destroyed.

    Any advice appreciated.

    DT

Sheerans are IWC distributors I'd bring it to them.

Its very unlikely any jewellers would hold it or destroy it. A watch company may do this if you sent it in for service.
If you are on good terms with sherrans David is more than capable of iding it.
The back needs to be opened to truly verify it.

Just a note. It would want to be a very Special price to make you buy it.
It would be very difficult to move on.

    Hi

He was looking for about 2.5K ish ( he needs funds)

    Why difficult to move on?

Is it not possible to replace papers and cards? If it is genuine?

Sorry to be a kill joy.
For the sake of a few hundred euro I would buy with box and papers.
Its hard enough to verify your identiy and watch with box and papers.

I know replacements are very difficult to get.
Maybe you can buy the iwc box, I have one not sure what its off buts its iwc.
Replacing papers may be sending back to iwc and might get pricey.
I don't know the current pricing on these but sherrans had the ceramic version on sale can remember the figure but give them a call.
    A lovely watch.

    Where did he buy it?

Ye its a decent thing to do if you have an interest in the watch.
But it wouldn't be nice for you to get stung. Have a good luck at the current value and you need to be getting it about 25% cheaper at least.
    Just my guess.
Btw If my box suits it its yours( or his if its genuine). Send me your email I will send a pic of it.

a minter with box and papers and recent service is £2750 - £3,000

Im talking about the most desirable one, 3227, is it a 3227?

A service on these is £400-£600 (from IWC obviously at that price)

buying an unserviced one at over 5 years old with no b&ps for 2.5k euro isnt the best idea imo

Decided against the purchase as either way i kinda i cant win

If i get it authenticated and its not right then the he will be in a tiz..if it it then I will feel bad as i am getting a bargain at his cost...

    So, aint gonna bother..

    Cheers
