Everyone will have a different opinion, most use a .223 but the .204 is getting more and more popular these days but not sure you'd find many second hand.

An advantage the .223 has over the .204 is cheaper ammo such as american eagle that will be good for plinking or will also be good on foxes.

The .204 doesn't have cheap ammo but the hornady v-max etc ammo for both are in the same price range.

There's also the hornet, swift and 22-250 but ammo for these are fairly expensive these days.

you would probably find a decent .223 package second hand for your budget.

All of them will kill foxes just as well as each other.

you would get a very good .22-250 for that money because nobody wants them,i have one myself and use it for deer and foxes and it has never let me down yet

loads say their expensive to feed but i disagree. I think 50 remmys are 35euro aprox a box for 50 rounds. Thats very cheap

I agree, i don't understand why people say they are expensive, they are one of the cheapest cf rifles to feed in ireland,

Best of luck with it, you won't be disappointed

Where abouts is this? As my friend has a hornet and i bought him bullets a few times because he lives abit out and the cheapest i've ever seen them is €40 euro for 50 remington that's on sportsden atm.. Usually €45 for 50 remington and Federal are €60 for 50. But it is a good caliber and i would like one also :o
