Budget Golf Holidays?

    Hi everyone,

I'm trying to organise a golf holiday for end of August for about 4-6 of us. Would ideally like to go somewhere warm. Last year we did Portugal (Faro, Villamora Albufeira). The courses were great, but we're looking to see if we can get anywhere different this year.

Anyone have any recommendations with the following features:

    - Low cost. Looking at about €300pp for flights/hotel/golf
    - 3 or 4 different courses
    - Decent enough nightlife, restaurants, pubs
    - Warm weather.

    Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

If you get anywhere for €300pp covering flights, golf and hotel, please post details back here!

There are some very decent courses in the south west of France.
You could probably fly to Biarritz fairly cheaply with Ryanair and take it from there.

Seriously, €300? In peak holiday season?

    You're away with the fairies.

    Ok gents, points taken.

Perhaps I was being a bit ambitious with the price.

    Any ideas though?

For 300 quid i would be heading to Donegal renting a house and playing some of the finest links courses in the world and have change left out of the money.
If u have to pay 80 quid to bring your clubs and even taxes and charges would be 60/70 quid a head for flights and there is no way u are getting free flights or even cheap flights that time of the year u are at 200 quid plus before Golf and Hotel, 3 rounds with buggies it would be a great price to be get them at 50 quid a round. Ye might be able to get a cheap hotel for 25/30 quid a head per night if ye share so another 75 quid. So u are over 400 quid and then u will need to pay for transporation when u are there.
    Regards Michael.

I didn't go on it but some lads in work went off for a 5 day golf holiday to Portugal in September and it was around €800 a head, that's just to give you an idea of Budget.

Booked the above but it was in Feburary so the golf may be cheaper, flights are going to be the expensive part.

I'd guess the cheapest time of year for Spain is midweek in mid September; just at the time when low season golf is coming to an end but most of the schools are back.

But by and large the key to a cheap holiday is cheap flights. Keep an eye on specials from Aer Lingus with clubs thrown on for free. They come along every few months. You won't get them in August though; they'll have their planes full at premium prices.

Probably should have clarified as well that the price was just for flights/golf/hotel. I'm aware that club rentals, car hire etc will be extra.

    Thanks for reply Mike.

I thought maybe someone knew of some packages deals they could point me to.

Just had a quick look at Malaga

3 course package for the La Cala courses for €117
Flights right now are €132.38 on Ryan Air. from 24th August to 29th August
Hotel - well depends on taste, but this will be probably about €200 for me for 5 nights, sharing.

So I'm looking at approx €450 now. Gonna see if I can improve on that.

The trip i went on was 188pp for carhire, golf and hotel. The flights are the big thing. The sunset beach often does golf deals with La Cala and it is a nice hotel. The 3 courses at LaCala are nice as well.

you'd want to be booking the sunset beach very early in the season. Why not stay in a hotel on the outskirts of town? You will be hiring a car anyway.

I received this deal into my inbox yesterday, they quoted me last year for Portugal. You might find it useful.
