HTC One S crashing

Hi guys, got a HTC One S about 5 weeks ago. Was great for about 2 weeks, then it intermittently started doing something weird: it randomly starts vibrating, goes back to the home screen (even though you may have been in the middle of doing something with it), and repeatedly zooms in and out from there to the multiscreen view. It sometimes also takes screen shots of itself as it does this. This can go on for anything from a few seconds to a few minutes and meanwhile you can't do anything with it. It sometimes happens a few times a day. Because it was fine at the start, I assumed it was some app I had downloaded, but Did a factory reset a few days ago and haven't installed any apps since then, but it still seems to be happening.

Needless to say, I rang my operator, three,

and they were no help- claimed they never heard of this problem before. (even though I strongly suspect that to be a lie!)
    Can anyone help?

Contact HTC directly about the problem directly. I've always found them to be extremely helpful and very quick with responses. Most people I know who contacted them about a faulty device were extremely happy with the service they received.

If you want to go through 3 then maybe try pm'ing the reps on this forum about it they are generally more helpful than the 3 customer service reps you get on the phone although all they will probably tell you is to bring your phone to your nearest 3 store or Fonemenders for a repair which will probably end up with your phone being sent off to HTC anyway.

Sounds like all the inputs are acting haywire at the same time(touch, home button, power button(screenshots)). No idea how this would happen though, or what would cause it.

As its the One S, I have to ask, does it get warm/hot on you?

It sometimes gets warm if you're using it for a while or if it's been charging, but nothing too excessive I don't think. It seems to do it more when you try to use it after being idle for a short while, ie. if you get a text and pick it up to reply (although can happen anytime really)...

It's hard to get any info on the internet as it's such a new phone, although I did see one or two mentions of it which suggested it had to do with being connected to the internet - my phone always is, as I have unlimited data, and was previously using viber etc to keep in touch with people (although as I've said I now have all my all apps deleted...)

Can you get root? A new governor might be worth a shot.

I seem to have the exact same problem as described above. have you noticed the three capacitive buttons at the bottom can become unresponsive too? for me locking and unlocking the phone seems to sort it out temporarily, does this work for you? Has anyone contacted HTC about this yet and what was the outcome?

I have the exact same problem with my HTC one S. Zooming in and out of home screens, taking screen shots and the home buttons become unresponsive.

Searching online, it seems to be a well know issue that has been reported to HTC. At the moment the feedback from HTC seems to be that it is not a common issue so I would suggest everyone contact HTC about this.

It also seems to occur mostly when there is a low GSM siganal and the phone needs to boost power. I live in a LOW GSM area so not much I can do about that :)

I'll post link to HTC contact when I send my details in.

Just to confirm the latest update to Android (4.0.4) seems to have fixed this issue.
I have not have the issue for a least a week so hopefully it is resolved.
