Unusual twin over the NE last Saturday

Was up in Newry last Saturday and spotted a light twin engined a/c circiling the town for a while, would have been around 1 or 2 pm. Then about one hour later spotted the same a/c doing runs on an east-west line just to the north of Dundalk.

From what I could see it was two tone blue (almost like a air defence aircraft !!) with some sort of white markings or symbol on the tail. Seemed to have an enlongated engine nacelle extending behind the wing, so perhaps a Twin Comanche ? Did manage to take a few shots but cant upload them at the moment.

Is this another of these survey a/c and if so are they covering the north as well?

Several survey aircraft doing the rounds at the moment. It might well have been a twin Otter.

    Something like this?

Thanks for the reply, it was much smaller than the Twin Otter, reckon a 4 or at max 6 seater, low wing, tail to match.

No, thats not the one either I am afraid. Same general style but the engine nacelles looked longer towards the back, and the colours are wrong.
