Are there any National or EU regulations in Ireland which prohibit or restrict the large scale removal of sand from coastal areas ?. One particular area of west Donegal is being destroyed by the commercial exploitation of the sand and thereby leaving lunar craters in its wake and destroying the flora and fauna and the natural beauty of the surrounding area.
