Advice needed Lads

Still very new to the game (3 months ) . Here is my dilemma lads , when I first started playing I was quite decent with my driver as in I would aim left , strike the ball cleanly and it would bend from left to right and end up central enought , I'm not saying this happened every shot but every 1 in 2 anyway ,

But last few rounds iv struggled with it really . I'd either just hook up horribly to my left with no distence or go high and way over to my right .

So last night I was using my 3 wood to drive and was getting more distance them I ever got from driver and most were quite straight or not to far to the sides .

So my question lads would be should I keep playing with my driver and practice tillI'm confident using it since its the club your meant to use from the tee OR keep going with the 3 wood for another few months till I'm better at the game itself as in hitting all shots comfortably and then try with driver again

It's a bit annoying to see the same advice time and time again but really the best advice is always get lessons.

Get lessons, practise and rinse and repeat....a lot.

In the meantime - hit your 3 wood. The club you are supposed to use off the tee is the club that gets the ball into play.

i agree in the get lessons part but in saying that im still new to the game with just over 10 months and i very rarely use the driver off the tee the 3 wood is an easier clob to hit and it more forgiving then the drive is so i say stick to the 3 wood for now if ur not going the lesson route

When I started a year ago I couldn't hit my driver at all. No height, distance, always topping etc. After lessons though it's now my favourire club in the bag. I still shank the odd one but usually due to a lapse in concentration. If its not working for you now then its not gonna fix itself without a painful amount of practice and repetition. Get a few lessons on fundamentals and pre shot routine and it won't be long coming together.

The first reply is the best advice you will get to be honest.

Get one lesson with the driver and get the pro to get you to work on one thing until you are comfortable with it. Go back and get a second thing and repeat over and over. You can't go wrong.
