since the sandforce controller issues that plagued a lot of SSD's are long resolved now, I reckon this is a pretty good buy, although i'm sure someone will be along shortly to disagree with me or quote me in a thread from a week or so ago where i said i'd never buy an OCZ product again. :o

still, it's a pretty sweet deal and will give you a nice sized, very fast SSD for peanuts.

I've had a pair of the same SD's running in my main PC in RAID0 for over a year now with no problems at all (touch wood), so i'll definitely be considering one of these for my work laptop if the offer is still on come payday.

EDIT: lol, the price just went up whilst I was posting this to: £141.16 inc VAT, although using the voucher code oczfreeship gets you DPD 2 day shipping for free (even to ireland). :)

ooh, that would actually be much better. :)

no wonder they're trying to shift the older stock like the agility 3's.

it would still be just over €200 delivered though (£8 for the cheapest OCUK delivery to ireland).

I think i might be tempted to hold out and pay the extra for the samsung though, although samsung do have a good reputation, those specific drives are still a bit of an unknown quantity as far as real world speed & reliability goes, but it's a good spot. :)

i got stuck with a pig of an SSD from corsair thanks to that sandforce bug so i'm wary of new tech now when it comes to SSD's, but you can't be treating your new love badly based on what your Ex was like. :D

I think the price change is because of the VAT difference between here and the UK?

hmm, possibly. when i went to the site first, i wasn't logged in so it may have given me the UK VAT rate, but then when i logged in to theck the IRL postage it could well have changed to the Irish VAT rate. good thinking. :)
