Not Paying fine for unvalidated ticket on S-bahn

    Listen just looking for a little advice here. Got caught with an unvaildated ticket on the S-bahn ( Berlin Metro), didnt have id on me at the time except my E11 card ( has name, date of birth and PPS number), just wondering if anyone has any experience with this? any chance I could get away with not paying the €40 fine?

    If the train service failed to allow you to validate it for some reason, then put in an appeal — they probably have some sort of appeals procedure. Otherwise, pay up.
