Iam a student living in dublin and I've heard about civil service jobs for students for the summer.

I would really love to get involved in this sort of work but I have no idea how to go about doing so.

Where do you apply and how?

If anyone has any knowledge on this please let me know ASAP,
    Thanks

There is restrictive recruitment and Government embargo at the moment for hiring external staff though, though temporary work may be available short term alright.

There is a yearly campaign on early in the year, usually Spring time when they look for applications for Temporary Civil Service Staff.

Have a look at publicjobs.ie webiste if there is anything suitable for students specifically I don't know they might have Graduate positions in certain disciplines advertised on publicjobs.ie from time to time. Regularly check out the website if there is anything relevant to you. Generally these campaigns are early in the year, summer or later in the year. There was a load of campaigns in the past few months for IT, Law, HR, Economics disciplines. There are a few threads on this but were for AO positions rather than for CO ones.

You registered on the right site. You can set up notifications when positions come available. They are usually under the clerical section. However as the other posters said you have missed this years temp jobs so you will have to wait til next year.
