    Hi,

Never applied for a grant before.

    I'm 25.

Hoping to do a post graduate course

Haven't lived with me parents since before last October.

Am I assessed as an dependent or independent mature student?

When did you commence you undergrad?

How old were you when you started college?

Did you take a break of at least 3 years from your undergrad to the commencement of your post grad?

These would be the main questions at the moment in order to determine your classification. Bear in mind also that PG funding is gone, you may be able to apply for full or partial tuition fees. Log onto www.studentfinance.ie for the online applicacation process, once you submit your details SUSI will get back to you to notify you of you eligibility.

    Depends on when you graduated

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

The fact that you never held a grant before is not a factor. Your category of candidate is based on the year you commence college. unless you have had a break of at least 3 years between courses, you cannot be re classified. So if you were under 23 whan you commenced your under grad and have not had a three year break, you may not even be classed as a mature applicant, even though you are now 25.
