What if I don't do my NCT test for a year?

Car due to be NCT'd, it will need to be done on annual basis now.

Say if I don't book it in until next year what are the consequences apart from possibly being stopped by the Gardai?

Say it has to be done in July and I don't bother and apply for it to be done in July 2013 - how can they retro test it??

There is a possibility of points and fine if the Guards catch up with you.

More problematic might be what your insurance company would say if you were to cause an accident.

Can we ban these "What if I blatantly ignore the law" threads?

Oh get off your high horse will ya? It's my business if I decide to break the law (I won't but it's still my business), I just posed the question that's all.

    Chill out

EDIT - for what it's worth I am fully road legal and always have been.

You're right it is your business. Probably best to keep it off a public discussion forum so.
