An absolutely shocking video from Saudi Arabia of drifting going horrifically wrong. I didn't embed the video cos it's so graphic.

How stupid are fools that do this stuff? :(

The following link is a blog post about a horrificly graphic YouTube video of a drifting crash. The blog describes what happens and has a link to the YouTube video. The video shows death and dismemberment. NSFW/NSFL.

No seat belts I presume.....think that guy that was spat into the air lost his arm on exit. It's horrendous.

Possibly its the angle making it look closer but the spectators arent exactly fast to move.

If i seen that coming i would be running in the opposite direction.

    Jesus, that was pretty horrific.
What can I say though, drifting in heavy traffic, not wearing seat belts... I won't insult the dead but you get the picture.

I don't get what they were trying to do though. How do you drift on a straight road filled with traffic? Were they trying to drift to the left and then back to the right and then straighten up?
Not familiar with the drifting out there.

They tend to drift in straight lines as opposed to around corners.

I remember seeing this, about sums it up.

I wouldn't even consider that related to drifting, it's just people acting the dickhead on public roads in heavy traffic in the middle of the day and thinking they'll get away with it.

Serious contender for the darwin awards tbh

A large amount of similar Saudi drifting accidents vids out there on the net.
But there one I like, with some guys sliding outside their car just on their sandals, crazy and dangerous yeah but looks cool.

Well in a country where just about anything fun is illegal, you have to get your amusement from somewhere.

If they're losing arms while sober, a pint probably won't help.

These chaps were acting the bollocks with their own and (more importantly) other peoples lives. I feel no pity or mercy for them. You live by the sword...

Having been there and driven there I'm not very surprised to be honest. The regular drivers there are the worst I have ever seen. No regard for anything that resembles rules of the road or any type of safety.

I've never seen a Saudi (or any non westerner there) wear a seatbelt in a car. "Allah will protect me" is very much the mentality.

Drifting is a recent enough pastime there although the recent habit of stealing cars from westerners is proving unpopular (with the westerners anyway).

I've seen videos of IEDs and the fallout so I highly doubt that's fake...

    So agree.

Why would someone even call that drifting. Atleast in normal drift you are in control of you car and with all this "Arab drifting" the idea is just to push car to the limit so it would lose all control.
Then again doing this on public road with very heavy traffic? Really?

Drive like a fcukin loon without seatbelts, drift on a public hi way, but if you dare smoke in your car during ramadan, you get six nights in the clinky clank & deported. Not nice place to be, happened to my mate over there.

    Saudi is nuts.

I just realized from watching the video that there must be some type of psychological reaction to these things as I instinctively put my hands to cover my hand at the sight of it. I wonder was there any survivors as there appeared to be four lads in the car?

All I see on the video is few casualities of someone's stupid behaviour on the road.
    That happens everyday nearly everywhere.
I know we don't see it on a video for everyday, but each one of us can end up like that tomorrow by his own or someones mistake.

^^ I bet if you asked a selection of AGS and Medical staff that have attended RTA's you'd find they see this kind of thing all the time.
not pretty but RTA's generally aren't that nice.

Leaving this open and closing the recent Rally thread would be pointless, it's only going to go one way and that's in the direction of the above post.

    Have some respect.
