And design nice cars. Jag finally brought the XJ back to former glory - ignoring the C pillars of course - after a right monster in the X350/8; and I have to confess to taking an embarrassing level of shine to the Evoque after seeing one in the flesh on the M8 recently. Less chavvy than I was expecting, unlike the recent stream of godawful bling Ranges.

The evoque are seriously cool motors IMO. I saw a white one in dublin recently and it looks great in the Flesh.

Good to hear that they're surviving. The motor industry would be a quieter place without them.

Shows what happens if you think big, keep your nerve and plough on.

not really, for a while their cars had mondeo engines in them, and that for me was the nail in the coffin for jag ( much like lambo no longer using v12's )

they can make all the money they want but they'll never make quality cars liek they did many moons ago :/

Also, their new auto box selector disc is a bit gimmicky. I used to love the Jag J-gate or the RR H-gate.

Land Rover can't build Evoques and Freelander 2s fast enough. There's a production line in India as well and talk of ones in China and Brazil. New full fat Range Rover due soon and something small is likely too as well as the Defender replacement.

Bit of a change from the cash starved BL days and a new model every 20 years!
Service from dealers hasn't changed though

Pity they plan to wreck the Defender though (even if some of the changes are enforced IIRC)

Didn't think that LR assembled in INDIA ? I know JLR are owned by TATA in India and there were talks about production moving but has that happened ?

Best thing to happen JLR was take over from FORD as they wanted rid of it for a long time and were not willing to put the money into and looks like TATA have done that it is working. They have good products now and future looks better than it was...big improvement in build quality and reliability over the last number of years

the XF has been a decent enough seller for them and the 2.2 diesel should help that more. I was half considering one in the next couple of yrs but they now seem to be everywhere I look. I counted at least 4 or 5 in the T2 short term carpark the other week and that was just on the roof level

They all look nice these days. Lots of Evoques and other land rovers and range rovers here in Bucharest...not unusual to see 3/4 in a row here!!

I missed "some" out of that statement, there are a few very good ones! :o

FL2 is assembled from CKD kits in Pune.
