thinking of getting into the cycling

    hi guys can any one point me in the right direction inm thinking of getting a road bike ,i was going to get a second hand one.some one told me you have to get fitted for a bike is this true?im 5 foot 11 ,realitively fit but ive started to put a bit of weight on finding it hard to get out running this year,any advice?

    Don't go out of your way to get a bike fit, unless you're finding you're having particular problems (or are perhaps thinking of racing and want to establish your "best" position)

    There are some basic steps you can take to make sure you get an appropriately sized bike, and help get sensible saddle and handlebar positon. There are a few threads on bike fitting some of which go into those basic setup steps
