    Hello all,
I am looking for advice in relation to the best external HD for hooking up to a new tv. We are getting a new Samsung TV and I have a lot of TV series stored on my PC. I'm thinking about transferring these files to an external HD. Is there anything I should be aware of i.e. connections, formatting etc. Any hints would be appreciated but in plain speak as I am pretty much a techno dummy.

FAT32 is probably the only fs the TV will recognise, so format it to that on receiving. You may have problems with some codecs as well, consult the Samsung TV manual for details of what are supported

    Thanks Nick.

Another point, some operating systems don't format FAT32 to "max capacity", so your probably better off using a third party tool such as Fat32Formatter

You can get a drive with hd connectors, and a remote control, handy for watching movies.
