    Hi all,

I'm going to Europe for a month and leaving on Friday... I basically have the trip planned out but am finding it hard to get information about travelling from Barcelona to Lyon.

I have an inter-rail pass so traveling by train and as I will be staying in a hostel close to the Barcelona-Sants train station I will be travelling from here to Lyon.

I am just looking for people who took this route before and if they are aware of connecting trains to get and so on (RENFE website is difficult to navigate),

    Appreciate any replys cheers

I tried http://shop.raildude.com/#/ptp/reservations__for_passholders/ but it doesn't give a result. The route will be something like:
Varcelona > Figueras > Montpelier > Lyon with maybe another leg from Montpelier to somewhere like Nimes or Avignon or going to Perpignon or Narbonne instead of Montpelier. A big problem here is that the selection of french trains that are available to passholders can be limited which might just mean long waits between connections.

What I would do is when you first arrive in Barcelona, go the english speaking desk in Sants and book there and then.

Before that go to http://www.bahn.de/i/view/GBR/en/index.shtml# and select barcelona sants to lyon. Expand the routes you are interested in and print before going to Sants.

From what I can see most are sleepers or involve staying overnight in a french station especially Marseilles which isn't the most desirable. If it was me I'd do the sleeper to Geneva and then to Lyon.

There might be other options from Barcelona Gracia or perhaps another station, but they shouldn't be too far from Sants by metro.
