    I have a red car and need a battery...what type to I get:P

You'd need to tell us what type of diesel engine, year and model of car etc etc.

    It's a 07 fiat doblo 1.3

I changed the battery and had it recently serviced and it still does it

Can be any one of a number of things but a weak battery or stater motor would be favourite. That engine is a common rail diesel and it will not start until the fuel pressure reaches a minimum value when it's being cranked - hence a weak battery or starter usually being a suspect.

Incidentally, that same engine is used in GM installations and I understand that Vauxhall UK are fitting a modified uprated starter to cars there which are reporting hard start issues. I don't know if Opel (or Fiat) are doing same here though....

Get a diagnostics check. Could be a blown sensor or a electrical fault.

Does it turn over every time on the key or is it a case of no response when the key is turned?

Every time I turn the key I can hear the clicking sound, if I wait for up to a hour it starts no problem

You could try disconnecting your coolant temperature sensor see if that helps it start. Or disconnect wait ten minutes and reconnect your battery.

I'd just get a diagnostics check and replace the faulty sensor(s). If there is no fault then suspect a bigger issue.

Sounds like starter problems. The clicking sound may be the solenoid on the starter pulling in but the starter motor is not turning.
