    The thesis!

Trust me, you'll learn much more valuable skills in that module than you will in any other module. Learning and practicing doing actual research is great and will give you something to talk about at your next job interview (that you know how to think critically/originally, test hypotheses etc).

Also Topics in Macro, if that module is still offered next year (I'm not sure). Very good module.

I have to do the thesis anyway :)

Yeah, I was looking at Topics in Macro because I did EC202A and EC202B :) The only thing there is Georg Mann is the lecturer ;) *YAWN*

What's Topics in Micro or Industrial trade like?

Wendero do you know if aedin dorris marks econometrics hard, I might have bottled it.

Topics in Macro is NOT lectured by Georg Mann, but by Simon Broome :) Trust me, I just took that module this year.

Freeze4real, yes unfortunately she is quite a tough marker :( I've never achieved a 2.1 in any of the modules I've had with her. Try not to worry about it though, you haven't received your grades yet remember.

I see....what's Simon Broome like? Georg Mann must have lectured it the year before.

What other modules did you take?

Oh that Econometrics exam was horrible :/

Simon Broome is a really nice guy like, he's just a little confused sometimes, like a little disorganized :) He knows his stuff though and he's good at putting up notes (and the notes covers everything like so if you miss a class you can just check on moodle).

The time i did my econometrics exam i forgot a calculator and they had none in the exam hall. did all the prob in my head and passed. she marks hard but its easy to pass if you have shown signs of effort.

I can tell you what not to pick!! Do not and I repeat this DO NOT pick EC305 Advance quants. I picked it this year coz I did well in second year quants and when I walked in there were more 4 Irish students the rest foreign and esp chinesse. Its sooooo hard, the people in the MSC couldnt help me and you will have mags hurley as your lecturer. she is useless.

EC312, if you like micro this is the one for you. I did it. only 8 in the class but Gerda Dewit was my thesis superviser and she thought the class. Its a harder version of game theory coz theres more theorys involved. Only problem is, gerdas notes are **** and you will have to do a bit of work yourself. Otherwise I enjoyed it. If you do this pick competition and regulation as well. they interlink.

International finance is a nice one. topics in micro is fine too. Irish economy, and topics in marco. is what id advice. If your doing finance at all do accounting for non accountants. lovely module

Going to lock this thread if you continue to use lecturer names.

I never picked Quantz for 2nd year as I didn't particularly like it in 1st year even though I got 79% in the actual exam It seems really complex and just I wouldn't have an interest in that module tbh.

I did Public Economics in 2nd year. I never did game theory. Is it possible to do EC312 without doing Game theory in 2nd year? Is EC312 Industrial Organisation?

If you don't study Finance is International Finance/Accounting for non-accountants possible?

I did Intermediate Macro 1 and 2, European Economy, Econometrics and Public Economics in 2nd year.

Loved Macro. What's topics in Micro/Macro like?

    Is Irish Economy all essays?

Game theory is tough. If maths not your stuff I'll advise you not to do it. Its more like advanced micro.

As next year is my final year I will do modules that I can get at least 75 in all.

but looking at all the modules finance are all interrelated so it doesn't matter what you pick.

Your going into 3rd year aswell? Same.
Yeah, I didn't like Game theory with the Intermediate Micro module.

Same. Well, I don't do Finance atm because I do Economics through arts. :)

Failed ec205 and ec206. I thought I'd pass one of them.
