Air Conditioning not working as well as expected

    Hi.

I have a 2007 Saab 93 TID and over the last weekend I was using the aircon. The air definitely seemed to be cooler than if the outisde air was being blown in, but not as cold as I'd expect from air conditioning. (I had an X-Trail before, and after a few mins with the air con on full, you'd have to turn the heating up a bit to thaw out).

Anyone know of an aircon specialist in the Galway area that might have a look at it?

Or has anyone tried a DIY fix on this issue?

    Thanks.

    Thanks.

Just had a look on youtube and found a DIY cannister that's available from Halfords. Just ordered it (here's a link).

I'll let you know how I get on doing the job myself.

They also have another one with a gauge IIRC - better off with it, but anyhow!
As for your current system, I don't know if it is gas or a leak or whatever. Regassing it yourself and watching it over time should tell.

Fast Fit are doing a regas for €50, €40 if you are insured with AXA. Takes about an hour.

Don't you have to buy another attachment (gauge) for that?

Yeah, the attachment is another €25, but it's re-usable. The all-in-one product is the same price as the other two bits together, but I thought getting a re-usable part would be handy.

I think there's a refundable deposit of €10 for the empty tank if you buy the seperate bits too.
