    Hi All,
I am building a house in donegal and I would like to put in a curved concrete stairs. I will also be putting underfloor heating on both the ground floor and first floor. Can anyone recommend anyone for this work? Ideas and tips? Prices involved? Better than going for timber?

    Thanks,

One major issue to address is how your treads, banisters and stair rails will be constructed. My suggestion is to do what our neighbour did and get a solid block "banister" which can be plastered to match the stairs.

We have a curved cast in-situ stairs with oak treads and a mild steel banister. Looks lovely but was a lot of work (and money).

It's not something I'd put in the house if I was building again.

    Hi,
We have been searching for curved concrete stairs for about two years and have now narrowed it down to two companies as these are to be a big feature in our house.
I've received several quotes for the precast stair from companies and was pleasantly surprised by the prices. got a quote from a precast concrete company in co- antrimfor £3500, and two formworks guys who have done numerous sets of these. One guy from Cavan was 3600euro and a guy from derry was £3700. These two quotes were for plastered and skimmed finish ready for painting, but do not include treads or balustrades.
i've attached a pic of what we're looking for. PM me for companies
