Might be of interest to some:

    http://www.irishtimes.com/blogs/career-opportunities/graduate-development-programme/
Our Programme, designed to run over a two-year period, will provide the successful applicants with an overview of the Group’s diverse business units through four placements, each of approximately of six months duration.

I graduated nearly two years ago - would that put me out of the running for something like this?

I don't think so. Within two years still seems very close to graduate for me unless it specifies otherwise.

Does anyone know if this is a paid position?

Sorry, but it states at the end of the page that no more applications are being accepted.
