Independant Fuel Stations

Does anyone know anything about the quality of fuel from independent fuel stations. Many of them are alot cheaper for diesel. One in the city centre here is 5 cent/litre cheaper then the rest.

Is it the same standard fuel as the shell and texaco garages?

Assuming they're not selling illegal product, its the same basic fuel as a branded station. There are minimal sources of legal fuel in Ireland (Dublin Port, the Whitegate refinery, possibly Cork Port).

There is some variance that can be caused by after-delivery additives or utterly ****e maintenance of pumps/equipment.

Remember that a lot of "branded" stations are independent franchisers to begin with.
