Can anyone recommend a decent route from Smithfield to Dunboyne please?

Google maps walking route suggests using the Navan Road (N3) for large parts of the route but I'm thinking of small back roads to avoid the traffic :
Phoenix Park - White's Rd - Castleknock Golf Club - Kellystown - Bracetown - Confey - Kennaghstown (Rooske Rd)

Has anyone cycled these roads - are they in decent nick?

    Any advice/suggestions very welcome.

I do city center to there every day. Park, Castleknock, Blanch Village, Blanch SC bypass, onto N3 off at Clonee, Dunboyne. Takes me about 45-50mins

    Edit: here a google map
