I've never played it but plan on playing this week to look at it as a serious contender for my new club

Just opening this up to get some general info flowing. Any members on boards?

I know a few have already moved from SC. How's it going?

I used to play it regularly a few years ago and rate it very highly. Some great holes and its version of amen corner is well known.

Good clubhouse and atmosphere anytime I was there, I would have always rated it better than SCGC but thats just a personal preferrence.

I would recomment it and even considered joining myself in the past but the travel was too far for me.

Have to say I've only played there once but really enjoyed it, the sun shone for the day and we had a nice nosh up after the golf but it is a very nice golf course and decent price as well. There are a few holes early in the back 9 that are super golf holes, think it's the 10th-12th. Tee shot on 10th is not easy!

Struggling there for members from what i hear. Caterers are gone from there. If you are going from sc you will find it a lot shorter. was a juvenile member there for years and it is a tough tricky course

Yeah, tis definitely a much tighter, more narrow course than south county. A really nice little trek. Definitely not a course that you'll be standing up bashing away with driver on every tee

They actually got new caterers in just a couple of weeks ago.

There are about 10 or 12 from SC joining. €1700 till the end of 2013. I've played it many times over the years and it's one of the best parkland courses in Leinster IMO. Afaik the club own the land and are in a good state financially so it's unlikely that we will end up in the same position a few years down the road.
