Kimi needs a kick in the ass!

OK take this weekend as an example. He didn't like the power-steering on Thursday. Instead of living with it to get track time and getting it modified later he chooses not to go out again that session.
    In Monaco!
At a track he hadn't raced on in 3 years!
To cap it all he made some glib comment about the track not changing much since the last time he drove there... Damon Hill seemed mystified by this decision and in due course he spent the rest of the weekend playing catch-up, slower the Grosjean.

This is the Kimi I remember blitzing Alonso in the dying seconds for Monaco pole in the mid noughties, the Kimi who has won around the principality.

Frankly, I think Kimi was at his best during the McLaren years when he was younger, pre WDC and willing to accept instruction. Ferrari, and now Renault, have pandered to his half-assed approach.

I'm not a Kimi-hater, far from it. He is unique - unconventional, charismatic and genuine. He doesn't gush over celebs like Hamilton or sulk like Vettel. It's just exasperating - he has so much talent. It's a pity that he's a lazy SOB!

I've always gotten the vibe that Kimi just doesn't care all that much, but he is a seriously talented driver. He's one of my favourite drivers in F1 so I'm really hoping he can make a push for the title and just knuckle down!

I don't see what the issue is? He wanted the steering setup changed, to something which he preferred, & for whatever reason, they didn't get the car back out for FP1.

He just didn't have a great race, & at Monaco, it's probably the hardest track if your having a bad race to turn into a good one. He's been on the podium after a handful of races, the guy's lost nothing....Monaco just bites hard is all.

Yes he definitely needs a kick up the ass.

He needs to be ridiculed, how dare a man coming into the sport after a 2 year break drive so very badly. Only 2 podiums in a team that was no where last year and only 16 points ahead of his team-mate. And he didn't even get higher than 7th in Australia after starting 17th. Only 6th in the championship ahead of 2 world champions, obviously he isnt doing a good enough job, disgraceful.

I wouldn't pay any attention to what Hill says, generally talking out his arse.

Kimi has been charged to get his employers as high up the rankings as possible. If they give him a car that he is not happy with why wouldn't he get them to change it. I don't think that the lack of running had that much of an affect on him. He got the wrong end of the stick by going around the first corner rather than through it like Vettel, and generally I think he struggled to get the heat into the tyres. He just gets on with it.

Monaco doesn't have the greatest record of outstanding drives, it is a very boring track to watch and wouldn't have changed that much in the two years he was out. He has been there or thereabouts all season, but for some bogey strategy calls he would probably have 1 win maybe 2 already.

Certainly does not need a kick up the arse, if anyone does is Grosjean, those cars aren't cheap, seems to think he is in stock car racing or something,

And he wants to go rallying in finland but Lotus will not let him.

Hadn't seen that article but that's exactly what I'm talking about. The comments here are ridiculously fanboyistic.

The team should have pulled him for a tyre change instead of repeatedly making him stay out to do nothing other than replicate a Trulli Train.

Can't really blame kimi for his result.

Well, Eric Boullier seems quite reasonable so far, saying that he thinks the E20 is affected far too much by temperature changes, including Monaco's cooler conditions affecting pace.

I'm a fan of Kimi, and don't think he's anything to be concerned about. Give him the car, and he will deliver. Kimi has never been a great qualifier, and that was always gonna bite him at Monaco.

A lot people surely might have money on him in Canada. 6th place is his lowest finish there and he's tasted victory there too. :pac:
