Hi im in the middle of a house renovation and im getting to the insulation part.

Ive been reading this forum and others but couldn't decide what to do.

I was thinking of using rockwool in the stud partitions as a sound barrier.
Can you get 3 inch rockwool or should i try cram 100 mm into the studs.
Would double slabbing or fibreglass be better ?

I have a single story extension with a flat roof which will be converted to a pitched, tiled roof. What would be best for thermal insulation primarily, and acoustic insulation as a secondary concern.

    Thanks in advance

You could also use acoustic slabs on the studs.

I crammed 100mm rockwool into the void and double slabbed, overlapping the second set of slab so the joins don't line up!
    It works well. fi
Also track down some foam tape that you can use under the sole plate and ceiling plate, this helps with airborne sound passing over irregularities in the ceiling and floor.

I did exactly the same as CJ in order to improve the sound insulation on a stud wall between two bedrooms and the results were excellent also. The only downside is that I will now need to replace the doors or add sealer strips to remove the air gap sound path under the existing ones at least.
