Temporary office jobs?

What's the best way of going about getting some temp office work? I've got two years experience working in an office doing data entry/filing/scanning and things like that. Six months out of work and looking for anything to fill this void and to tide me over during this period. I constantly check jobs.ie and fas.ie but absolutely no luck with those. Also, recruitment agencies haven't resulted in any success either.

Networking: do any of your friends / relatives know of opportunites.

Do they know any staff who work for recruitment agencies? - the only way to get work of them is to get into a recruiter's mind through knowing someone - cold-calling and emails don't work at all.

Have you gone in and met with the recruitment agents?

I have and I find it does result in jobs opportunities coming your way. But you have to go in and meet them.

Have you registered your CV with Monster and Irish Jobs?

I disagree with JustMary saying that the only way to get work out of a recruiter is to know them or to know someone who knows them. I have gotten my last two roles through recruitment agents and I didn't know them.

To be honest, the best way to get recruiters to notice you is to find out the specific person who deals with temp/contract work, email them directly with your CV and follow that email up with a phone call, after a day or two, requesting a face to face meeting. If they've seen you, they're more likely to help you

Just my two cents and experience.
