    Hi,

I'm thinking of buying a bike from a relative but am having problems getting much info on the frame. It was bought as a separate frame from Hardings about 10 or 15 years ago. Its just marked as a Giant Cadex frame and has a label saying that its Hi-tech composite and has another marking saying Carbon Fibre Racing 1 Design by Giant

Has anyone any info on this frame - I'm guessing that its not pure carbon fibre but it'd be good to know approx what its worth moneywise

Beautiful bikes in my opinion but it would be more then 15 years old as far as I know so if its all still original components it might need some updating.

The earlier frames were carbon fibre main tubes with aluminium lugs and joints. I think (might be wrong) but there was a few full carbon ones made but can't be sure. Giant themselves are one of the biggest manufacturer's in the world so they make good bikes adn frames.

Its a nice bike but I wouldn't put much value on it although others might pay more due to its age, hard to tell without full specs and a history. Also I'd be guessing that it may only have a 5 year frame gaurentee but someone else can clarify, if that's the case you should get it checked before buying.

Can't be any more help then that.

Thanks for the info - its my Dad's bike and I don't want to pay him too little for it. I didn't list the specs before because I didn't want to distract from the frame which is what I'm curious about.

The rest of the spec is:

    Campagnolo Omega 6082 rims
    Shimano 105 groupset
    Shimano SQ B-39 & B-53 chainring
    Sakae handlebars
    Giant alloy 6000 series forks
