WD external hard drive: 500 gb vs 1tb

Hi looking at a portable external hard drive and am considering the following:





WD My Passport Essential SE 750 GB Black Portable Hard Drive (USB 3.0/2.0)

Debating whether to get the 500 gb or the 1 tb.

Might not need 1 tb of space, but would the 500 gb be any faster?

Say theres 300 gb on both, which would be faster for loading, transferring files, ad streaming videos on my tv?

Any is the answer. If it's just for streaming then either are plenty fast enough.

Cool, and for copying files would the smaller hard drive be neccesarily quicker?

Both drives will be the same speed, regardless of the size. Externally powered drives may be slightly faster,

Cool, read a few reviews and either the 500 gb/1 tb versions look pretty good.

I have been looking for an external hard drive lately and that dabs one is the best value that I have seen.

I have a WD My Passport that is a few years old and the only complaint I have about if was that the original U.S.B connection was rubbish and kept getting disconnected. Once I replaced that it worked with no issue.
