I have a 2010 Team Carbon road bike, bought new. I have done over 5000km so far without a single problem. I think they are a great bike and very good value for money also. My other bike is a Trek Madone 5.2 Pro and in all honesty there is not much difference between the two.

I have the 2011 aluminium team with mostly shimano 105 spec,
It will give any bike in its price range a good run for the money regarding value and quality of build,
It depends what you want from a bike,
Take a look at the geometry...will it suit you?....
some bikes have a more race orientated geometry, others more relaxed......
If possible, try some different brands and models of bike to see which one feels good for you.......

i haver a team carbon and a pro carbon, no problems with them. Race the pro carbon (and have raced the team carbon) and have done lots and lots of miles. They are both 2010 bikes and Im happy with them. I would buy another.

I have a 2010 Hybrid, whatever the basic spec is called, with mech disc brakes and 18 speed I think. Great bike and served me well with just two things I'd moan about:

    1) I found the brakes a curse to set up, but maybe that's just me!

    2) The paint jobs on them (and I read this online too) chip.mark a little bit too easily! Even the place where the cables from the brakes/gears rub against the frame took the paint off over time. Granted not a problem if you don't care how it looks!

I have a 2011 Road Comp that I bought second (or third) hand off of here before Christmas and it has become my main bike now.
I'm not sure on how the sizing compares to other brands, but the guy I bought it off was riding a Trek size 58 and said this (Large) was too small, and I was riding a Cube 58 and found this bigger. He is 6'2" I think, and I'm 6'1".
There were a few paint chips on this when I got it, but nothing major and it has definitely done me well so far, with no hassles at all

Well I have the a 2010 road team carbon, good bike especially the group set. I think the sram gear is spot on every time.
My only criticism is thats its a little harsh on the Irish road and dosent absorb alot the vibrations from the road and the stem will have to be changed for a shorter one, mostly for anyone thats not been on road bikes for years and like the low n long position.
I have a large and Im just shy of 6'' I got a -20mm shorter stem and it made a big different to the bike, way more comfier for my 20miles commute a day. :)
Also got one of the 2011 MTB pro's. This IS my fav bike (out of my 5), even the guys I ride with on there treks n specialized at twice the price cant believe the spec and how it rides. But Im just biased because the way it makes me feel!

Im not one of these people who like to show off what name is down the side of my frame but I value the spec and geometry and how it effects my pocket.

I swapped my stem out too - made it a lot better. To be honest, the only thing I'm not too keen on is the skinny handlebars. I keep meaning to get them double wrapped but haven't got round to it yet

Your handle bars should be the same width as your shoulder as a guide.

Team hybrid. Love it. Can't compare to similar, because I haven't ridden similar, but I've no desire to. Geometry suits me perfectly. Great spec for the price. Bike 'shares' the work, if that makes sense..?

If I lost it I'd replace it with same. When transitioning from bike to fleet, I wouldn't be surprised if the next one is a boardman too.

I too have a team carbon 2010 spec and while it took me a while to figure out the front end (bars and stem) with a lot of help from others here I've had no complaints.
It is my first carbon frame so I've no other reference but its response when I throw down the power is savage.
Would I buy another Boardman? Yes

I have a 2010 Road Team with SRAM Rival, very light, rides well and was excellent value secondhand. I am about to rig it up as a winter bike. I also find the guys in Halfords airside to be very helpful, they know their stuff.

My other bike is a Focus Izalco Pro (bike of the year and three times the price). Because both have a similar group set its hard say if one is 2k better than the other. Having said that when I'm huffing and puffing up the Naul I know which one I'd rather be on. The aluminium frame on my Boardman is less absorbent.

My personal opinion is if you are serious about bike training and plan to ride for anything over an hour stay away from straight bars. Bends offer a much wider range of positions which helps keep the stiffness away on those longer rides.

The only other bike that comes close to the Boardman Carbon price wise is the Planet X SL Pro Carbon with Rival at €1300.00.

If you decide on the Boardman find someone with AXA insurance to get 15% off. Halfords also offer from time to time 20% off. This should be coming around soon ie end of July. Combining both AXA and Halfords discount makes them unbeatable.

They do pop up on adverts / done deal from time to time at very good prices. I also notice Boardmans fetching very high prices secondhand on eBay.co.uk, in some cases €200 more than similar secondhand bikes in Ireland.

never knew about the prices on second hand in the UK being higher.

i have one. spent ages looking. no bike could touch it spec wise for the cash.

    tis a lovely bus.

    Hi
Anyone can advise me pls. I select 3 brand of racing bike. which one should i take into consideration
    1. Specialized secteur sport
    2.Cube peloton race
    3. Boardman Road Team Carbon Bike 2012/2013

    Thanks a lot

I was between the Cube and Boardman myself, if you were buying today the Boardman is best value, 10% off (ends today) and if you know someone with an Axa card, take another 15% off. That's about €1240 for a carbon bike with full 105 groupset, the best price I could find on the Cube was €1300.
