So, bare in mind I don't have an entry yet, I've been asked to do the Wicklow 100 in 2 weeks. I've been doing little or no training this past year on the bike and was wondering how possible it would be. I did a 40km spin up and around the steep side of Howth the other week an felt grand after it so how taxing would the ww100 be in comparison?

how often have you done 40km recently? 100 should be doable but you will be sore afterwards

    Entry is closed.

Anyway, there is a stop along the way, and there are 2 climbs on the route that are tougher than Howth, but not that much tougher.

If you get to go, just take it easy. It's not a race, so don't be worrying about people heading past you at the start. Just take a pace a little slower than you have now and that should carry you the distance.

I'm gonna get out on the bike tomorrow and try a couple of spins around howth head. If I can do that and I get an entry I might just do it

You'll be sore but well doable, eat loads, maybe stop to stretch a few times and take breaks. I did it about five years ago with practically no training on a full sus mtb. Was tiring for sure just resign yrself to it being really hard and try not to get frustrated when u start to tire. You'll be grand.

Sup, did you manage to get entry, I never realised there was a deadline, what happens if you just show and cycle it?

They are open roads. You are entitled to cycle them. You are not entitled to the support, certificate and medal that goes with the entry fee.
