Mid range phone

Hey my HTC (Legend) wen't into the washing machine; long story short I need a new phone. I'm looking for low-to mid range phone (150-250). Must have android. I will be able to wait until Christmas if you think there will be any major deals.

Any ideas/recomendations? Thanks

Samsung Xcover is 229 on Meteor. Good mid range, and somewhat durable and water resistant phone. The Galaxy Ace Plus is about the 260 mark. The HTC Wildfire S would be quite similar to the Legend, spec wise, but it's a bit smaller and it's about the 200 mark. The HTC One V is the spiritual successor to the Legend, but that comes in about 300.

The Sony Xperia U is 219 on O2. But I assume no one wants to be on O2.

I think that I can get something a little better than 800mhz for the price? it doesn't seem bad tho?

I think the Xperia U or galaxy w? which would be faster dual core 1ghz or 1.4ghz; i presume the xperia would be much faster?

as said above, i like the look of both phones, whihc wud be faster though?

BTW: am going to America in about a week for 2 weeks; would I be better getting it over there?

No idea about speed tbh. Might depend if you play games or multi task more.

Xperia U has no memory card slot. So 8GB is your lot.

If you were to up the budget a bit, The HTC One V (from €268) is a great phone for the money.

Seems a lot extra to get a memory card slot over the Sony. Maybe theres other things different?

i will probably go with samsung w but sony u doesn't seem bad? htc seems dear compared to these phones?
