Birds Nest in the Chimney

First discovered some blue eggs in one of the unused chimneys, maybe about a metre down. I was careful not to disturb it and they have since hatched but I'm a little worried because they never make any noise and I never see the parents coming or going.

There's another nest in the garage and they are always chirping/screeching and the parent birds are always coming and going.

Also at first there seemed to be three young birds but now there are only two.

I really don't want to get close. I've only checked the thing three or four times and I don't want to come too close but I'd hate to see them die.

Pale blue eggs with spots would be a Jackdaw. Clear blue eggs would be a starling. I have seen them go down a chimney in Mayo.

I'd say it's a jackdaw, there are a lot of them about and I haven't seen any starlings.

Do you know if they would abandon their young after they have hatched? And how sensitive are they to disruption?

I presume the best/only thing I can do is to leave them alone?
