Verona and Bergamo Italy & transportation

I think I made a bit of a cock up when booking "cheap" Ryanair flights for myself and teenager. We are flying Cork-Stansted-Verona in June, travelling to Lake Garda and Aqualandia (Jesolo de Lido on the coast), then flying from BErgamo to Cork. I had thought that using public transport would be chaeper than hiring a car (hoping to do this trip on the cheap), but am finding limited/confusing information on trains & buses. Car hire isn't cheap, especially dropping off at another location. Does anyone out there have any similar travel experiences and advice as to whether I would save using public transport or would it be just as handy to hire a car. We don't speak Italian.

    Thanks
