You have to have an enemy to keep the illusion of "Government" in place. *

Ireland passed the Bretton Woods Agreement Act of 1957 which established the IMF and Ireland's participation in the fund. According to the text of the Act, Ireland had to contribute an amount to the fund in 1957, half in gold and the other half in US dollars. Over the years and into the 2000's, Ireland has continued to contribute gold and dollars to the fund. Check out the Irish Statute Book online. As we have contributed since 1957, are we now entitled to our money back from the IMF with accrued interest on gold and dollars for over 50 years instead of having to pay back a bailout loan? Or is this evidence of a scam? While the IMF preach to Greece and other countries about the necessity of paying taxes, the IMF itself and its officials are exempt from paying any dues or taxes anywhere and have full diplomatic immunity under the 1967 Diplomatic Immunities Act in Ireland because of the Vienna Convention. Something really stinks!

On the same subject, the ACP-EC Partnership Agreement of Cotonou (Privileges and Immunities) S. I. 82/2002, Irish Statute Book, extends diplomatic privileges to the Representatives, ADVISERS, AND EXPERTS of the Governments of the EC Member States, the Representatives, advisers and experts of the Institutions of the EC, the Members their officials and employees of consultative bodies established under the above agreement. This was signed by Dermot McCarthy, Secretary General to the Government on 7 March 2002. So no wonder our Government is arrogant because this proves that they are above the law!
