If they keep slashing milk price it probably won't be as big an issue as last year..

was told during the week that lakelands suppliers are working away on the basis of no superlevy. One farmer who had had no milk cheque from january was saying that the money deducted for superlevy isnt paid to where ever it has to be paid until september , so the dairies will have the use of that money til then....

A lot of cows have peaked already so maybe with the growth at the moment, cows may not milk as much as last year"heres hoping:(". Still think the co ops shouldnt be encouraging oversupply until 2015

Just wondering how are yer cows milking boys and girls, mine peaked a week ago. i reckon cows are gona go back with this weather. Their milking just over 23litres a day p 3.35 f 3.50(shocking:eek:). feeding only 1-2 kg per day depending on the weather, cut it out last week during the dry spell. I reckon cows will drop in general, compared to last year with the weather conditions on the way:(.

arrabawn over .3% after 1% increase this month looking like its gona be a problem:(, i thought cows werent milking as well as last year. Id say its younger stock coming through due to high culling last year and dairy numbers up.

With this weather i do not think there will be a superlevy at all.My milk man says he is back a good bit from last year and he says farmers can not afford nuts the way the price is going.

don't forget, up till this bloody month of June, it had been a great spring for grass and grazing conditions, and nearly half the milk was produced then.
think glanbia was 17m liters over towards the end of June

Ya seems a lot of lads are upping the meal around here trying to hold them, after grass will also be late. Cows never really peaked that well this year
