Decal adhesive removal

    Hi all.

I've a job to do taking large advertising decals off a few vans. Is there any sure-fire stuff to get the adhesive residue off the paintwork ? Ideally something I could paste on, leave it for a few mins while it breaks down the glue.

I've been using a heat gun to take off the decals but some of the adhesive that's left is bet onto the panels. Did a bit of Googleing but can't find the right stuff. Some of the panels/areas are worse than others.

    Thanks

Cheers Owen. They both look good (especially the Autosmart Tardis)

Anyone stocking that in Dublin ? I need it for Mon morning.

Just use thinners for paint. It's a heaver type of white sprits. U can get it in a motor factors. Also get a plastic scraper.
Have been using it for years.

Petrol on a cloth. You'll probably need to whip a buffer out, too.

Did it to my van a few weeks ago (it was getting stripped down and done again in a different livery). After the heat, petrol and buff, it looked like a brand new van. You'd never have known it was decalled before.

Did a bit today. Guy I was doing the job for turned up with 'Avery Adhesive Remover'. Its good stuff and mushed up the glue nicely.

Have to admit, the plastic scraper worked brilliantly.

    Thanks for the tips/advice lads.

"Industry Clean" from Wurth. Best adhesive remover, best decal remover. I've used it for years. Comes in aerosols.

Last time I did it , used cellulose thinners, put some on a cloth and it just wiped the glue straight off....easy
